Ok I was once told if your new age on your birthday corresponds with a caliber or gauge of a gun you can purchase that gun with no repercussions from wife. So in January I well be 44. does that mean that I get a 44 mag for my birthday under that law.[smilie=s:

LOL - see also definition of SWMBO!

I think that September 15th is also a good day to buy guns...

...it only comes once a year!

As SWMBO says: we all make choices.

It's the choices you make that she can't live that you have to worry about! :dung_hits_fan:

If any of you listen to bob and tom on the radio there is the donnie baker law. "Honey I had to buy that .44 on my 44th birthday It's state law" LOL

Only if you have swell brothers. One of my buds received a .40 Glock for his 40th from his two brothers. I only have sisters.

I have two brothers neither own guns. But my sister her husband my brother inlaw is how I got started in the hunting fishing and guns. I learned alot from him. we can talk till the wee hours of the morning about hunting fishing and guns. So sister can play a part pending on brother inlaw. I do know a lot of women that shoot my niece is a security guard and shots regularly.

I'll be 44 in April, SWMBO says that law is superseded in this state by the "till death do us part" bit on our marriage license...

Well, for a .61 caliber, I will have to go black powder or maybe a 20 ga.

That "till death do us part" clause is a bit of a thorn, isn't it?
There are also quite a few hidden and unspoken clauses in there as well...

Am sure I have it around here and I think it came from someone's wife, perhaps yours. Little note that said " No problem at all, you just go out and buy any new gun you wanted"
Not sure if it was signed or not !!!!!!!!!
Actually, I am telling a big one. Think I actually saw it behind the hand gun counter at Cabella's in Sidney.
Oh well, one can always wish I guess !!!!!!!

you did get your 41 right?

Already have the 45, never really cared for 41, and I also have a 40 caliber (400 CorBon).

:drinks:

44 is still a few months away, perhaps she will see the error of her ways.

If your age dont match a caliber then you may have to go to a math problem to get want you need. example age 46 divide 2 number of child = 23. Reverse the numbers 3-2= 1. Now take 23 answer from first problem minus answer from second problem 23-1= 22. Then move decemal over two spots that would equal .22 cal. Now you may have to adjust the forumula to get what you need. years of marriage, number of grand kids, year of first car, numbers on house what ever works to your favor....... Oh ya dont use her age (this could backfire on you) But number of payments left on her car also works great for me. When you pull the car payment card that leave them standing their like a deer in the head lights.

I once used several of those rules. Had to do some creative accounting to get some of them, but ended up with a .22, .357, .40, .41, .44, and .45 before I woke up and realized it was all a dream. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

Do any of those rules pass through to model numbers as well? I have been thinking of a model 94 for a while. And a model 586 (would that be 6 months after the 58th birthday?), but don't want to wait that long. Hmmm, maybe if I took the 5 and combined it with (8 minus 6) to give the results of 52, that might work. Naaa, don't want to wait that long either.

YES! If you don't like the caliber you can take the model # option. Model 27,41,70etc. or parts of a model # if it is too long (1928,1903,1917 etc.).

I think I need to investigate your 586 theory I think she has been holding out on me with that one.

Durn somebody messed up I never got my 4 bore 8 or 10 gauge!!

I'll be 67 in March, what kind of gun comes in 67 Caliber? What would your wrist feel like after?[smilie=l:

Tim just did the math on yours 67 - 28= 39 then add 6 to the answer 39+6=45. looks like you can get a .45. 67 is your age the 28 came fom your post number is the 28th one. the 6 came from the first number in your age. hope that helped. this also can be a 45 long colt because we used long math.........

yes model numbers well work. its in the fine print of section 2 of state law. you may need to check your state ruling on this.

I certainly hope SWMBO doesn't read this nonsense about having to get a gun of birthday caliber!!!! I'll be up the proverbial creek without a gun.

Since i am now 63 and going to be 64 I bought a 35 Remington Lever gun today. I haven't figured out an excuse other than I didn't already have one and I have a lot of brass that is getting old and feels neglected. :bigsmyl2:
