It is time for the range tomorrow. No work, the grass is cut, and it's getting cool as heck around here. I'm bringing the 12 ga loaded with buckshot, for the real dangerous targets. The fourty four, 30-30, and a couple 22s..I may even have time to load some 30-06s for the 03A3.
Dangerous targets look out, I'm coming...... Time to lay down some suppressive fire on some pop cans.

around here the public ranges will be swamped, I'll pass on that circus.

Tuesday is the day to go to collect all the fresh brass. :D

Missed my usual Friday morning shoot, so went this morning before the crazies showed up.

Found a load for the 311466 in the '03-A3 and one for the 308291 in one of the K-31s. It was a very productive session.

Blammer- Tuesday would be a good day for brass pick up before the county guys come and clean the range. At $2-3 / lb people still throw the brass out. I have noticed more people picking up brass.

my outdoor shooting place is closed today, bummer.
so to cure my shooting blues i'm going to make the drive to my brother-in-laws place (and hope he's open), he's the one with all that acreage to play on.:kissarse::evil:

A friend of ours from Oklahoma came over with her son to pick up a stray dog that my wife picked up on the interstate a few days ago. All the "No kill shelters" are full here in NM so she came all the way over here to pick up the dog and take it back to a "no kill shelter" that her aunt runs.
She is very scared of guns but asked if she and her son could shoot. I was glad to make this happen. I had some MP 359-640 HP's loaded and let her shoot some of those into milk jugs filled with water. She also fired a box of 38 specials loaded with Lee 105 grain SWC's. What surprised me the most was she asked to and did fire my Remington 870 loaded with Lee 1 oz. slug loads. These slugs are loaded with 36.0 grains of HS-6.
Her 12 year old son has only shot a gun once before ( this was at our house on a previous visit) and was eager to shoot. We had to figure out how we could let him shoot with his right arm in a cast up past his elbow. He is right handed and we needed to get him set up so he could shoot left handed with me holding the forend of the rifle and adjusting for windage and elevation. He was shooting my "home made Trapper" loaded with 311008's and 8.0 grains of Unique. To my surprise this worked amazingly well. He was pretty proud of shooting a rifle in the same caliber as his Grandpa.

30-30 went great as usual and had a chance to shoot my- one buckshot loaded over 3 grs of Bullseye WOW do they shoot the pop cans at 25 yds.

The 44 is coming around with 240 gr SWCs no leading today.

Buckshot loads were fun as ever out of the 12 ga- 6 pellts of buckshot over 17 grains of 700 X in a one ounce cup.
Forgot a magazine for the 22 auto so that stayed in the case.

"Forgot a magazine for the 22 auto so that stayed in the case."

Yep, done that. Now, .45 ACP and 10/22 magazines are permanent fixtures in the range box.

Took my son to the outdoor range today, shot a rifle for about an hour and then headed for the clubhouse for a barbeque lunch. There were storm cells floating around, keeping a 'nice cool' breeze flowing. Nice way to spend part of our day.
