My cousin told me a couple days ago I have been fishing too much. So, I went grouse hunting this morning!

Now that beats a day in the office, . . .

Heck it beats a year in the office.

I'm impressed, I never mastered the art of shooting a "flinch lock".

We had such a wet spring here in Oregon that the outlook for all upland birds is pretty dismal this year. I had planned to hunt grouse this week, but have been helping a friend, that recently had back surgery, with some projects, maybe next week.

Thats a fine looking ML. Now that I have some long winters ahead of me, I hope to put together a flintlock at some point. Always wanted one of those.

Did that turkey hunt last spring yield anything?

Gosh darn, my cousin is right. I'm a backslider. Went fishing again this morning.

And yes, I did get a turkey last spring!

Yep, Smith Lake. I had me some pike fillets for supper last weekend from there, not bad. Perch from Canyon Ferry were even better, filleting sized perch.
