Today I received an unsolicited Private Message with a guy offering me lots of reloading stuff for sale. I sure hope this stuff doesn't take root. We don't need PM Spam on this board!

I sent it to a Moderator and hope somebody will jerk a knot in that guys tail.

In the PM, there's a report button, a red triangle with an exclamation point in it. We need for ALL spam to be reported like that. That's how we end it. Starting a thread about it doesn't help, reporting it does. Thanks.

Report him! We don't need any "Nigerian style" spammers/scammers here.

Sorry didn't notice any red triangle.

PS..I went back and checked and there are no red triangles on my PMs. There are on posts. Your PMs. must be very special.

It's in the lower left of every post on this forum, including PM's.

I checked again and yes it is there, but in the top right of the PM. I am sorry for being so stupid about these things. I was not trying to be a problem for anybody but the spammer.

Please send a report, we need documentation of this so further action can be justified by proof.

So when I see someone wanting something and PM them to see if I can help them out , Is that Spam? I sort of associate Spam with mass mailings of "valuable offers" not one to one, shooter to shooter where there is a mutual interest served. I hope I have not spammed anyone. I would be so embarrassed.

Unsolicited is the key word here, if you see someone asking for an item, that's hardly unsolicited.

One of them sent pm's to people in an underhanded attempt to circumvent the forum rules for selling, by either not being a member long enough, and/or not having enough posts. Instead of doing the right thing and become a valued member of our forum family, they decided to send PM's to people in an attempt to sell items they wouldn't be allowed to post in the S&S section due to the criteria not being met.
Mistakes happen, oversights occur, not everyone is perfect, but blatant attempts to circumvent forum rules by trying to sell through unsolicited PM's will not be tolerated, but we have to be informed when it happens.

When somebody send you a long list of stuff he want to sell you and you have not asked, or shown any interest in the stuff..yes..that is spam
