yes it is a bit scary. but better on the net then on the range from a ricochet from the next range. heard them before passing over the range.

Seen this video on youtube just remember guys be safe when shooting you never know what can happen.

I once marked some 5-600yd targets for 308 and 25-06' . The sound was distinctive. Ssssssssshhhhh, tack, thump,.........bang. I never considered that the bang could have been the bullet and not the shot itself.

I agree w/the uneasy feeling of the sound of the bullet bounce. I mean at least if its hissing you feel like you can side step, when it whines who knows where its going.

I've seen the 50cal bounce video before, everytime its"whoow buddy an inch to the left would have ruined your whole day and SWMBO would never forgive you messing up the shirt",which is only humorous because nobody was grievously injured.

It has been 43 years now and I can still tell the difference between and .223 and a 7.62 X 39.......

I know what you mean. I worked a subgun match this past weekend and had few flyers zip by. Stops you right in your tracks.

Note to self, don't shoot sheet steel with non AP rounds....;-)

As another poster stated, the ole 7.62X39 is a sound you never forget, bouncing off armor or punching through sheet metal and wall board.
