Does anyone know of a way to determine the tin content in a 1lb bar of plumbers solder? I know most today have the percentage marked on the bar as in 50/50 or 95/5 but I have some older ones with no numbers on them with the exception of some that has 111 on them.

Charlie, Thanks for your response. That tread was exactly what I was looking for. Especially on the part that identifies the 111 bars as 50/50 and also the part of using the lead thermometer to determine tin and antimony content.
