Now I know to label my cast boolits as soon as I cast them.

Just pan lubed my .45ACP boolits with a black powder cartridge lube. I do load this to very low velocity (about 650 fps) to baby my 1916 Russian contract M1911. Should I clean off the lube (what will remove the wax?) or just shoot with the beeswax/canola/Crisco mix?

On the other hand, I just coated my .44 Russian BP boolits with alox. I think I should go ahead and clean them with mineral spirits and pan lube.

shoot them you may find they work just fine

It will probably be fine. I have shot SPG lubed bullets o/ smokless, they run fine @ sub 1000fps levels.

A lot of guys use SPG for everything, shoot them and see how it turns out.

On the boolits that are for your .44 Russian, if the alox coating is fairly thin, I would just go ahead and lube them with your BP lube right over the alox, and shoot them, I wouldn't worry about getting the alox off of them unless it was a very heavy coating, in which case I would just wipe them down with a rag to remove much of the coating, again not worrying if there was a little bit left. For the 45ACP that you lubed with BP lube, it should be fine.

Bp lube on a smokeless cartridge worked allright for me, but Alox on a BP load didn't fare too well.

BP lube is fine. I don't like SPG for BP in a rifle. The last 10" of barrel will be full of hard, dry fouling.
I don't like Alox either. I think SPG for your handgun would be better.
Why don't you buy lube from White Label or others here that have great lubes? SPG is VERY expensive and White Label makes a great BP lube that is very reasonable and works wonderful. They have the best for smokeless too.
Make some Felix or Speed Green.
Just don't reverse and use a smokeless lube with BP.
TL boolits shoot great with a good lube, you do not have to use Alox.

I use Emmerts for all my revolver/pistol boolits except those going at high 44Mag speeds. For the 45ACP you should be fine.
