I was given a 10 lb Lee Bottom pour pot the other day .
The former owner abused it , to say the least .

It leakes a lot .
I was going to try and fix it .
But found the linkage is broke and stoper have been ground on .
Looks like he used a bench grinder on it .

So I was thinking on just pluging it .
And use it with a dipper .

Any ideas on how to plug the spout ?
I have to clean the pot and remove the remains of the linkage

I will look at it later to see if he Mucked up thing else .

Most folks just put in a screw. That should do the trick.

I brazed a piece of nail in the spout of one of my Lee 10 pounders. I got it cheap at a gunshow and now use it for dipper casting and small scale smelting.

Thanks
I looked at it and a screw is the way I will go .
I bet I have 100 different screws that will fit

Spare parts are available from Lee. Is the pot in good shape otherwise? Just a thought, cause parts are cheap and readily available. Use one pot for #2 Alloy and one for 20/1 or whatever.
I've found 10 lb pot cumbersome to ladle from, 20 lb works better.

If you plug the pot take it apart first and braze the spout in place and braze in your plug screw. A LOT of the Lee's arn't leaking from the spout so much as from around a poorly crimped spout. It will break your heart if you plug the hole and still get a drip.
