Hey all.
So I have used the Lee 309150F to cast with, they weigh 156 on average,
I have pan lubed with Alox (mule snot) and let dry/set overnight.

I placed Gas Checks on the bases and I am trying to push them through the Lee 308 size/lube die and it is like cement. I dosloged it with a dowel and tried another, when I try to push the second round through the arm just stops, going nowhere. no matter how much force I use...[smilie=b:

I am using the RCBS single stage and mounted well on the new bench.

The first thought that comes to mind is how much are you trying to size? What is the as cast diameter and what size of die are you using? Seems odd that lubed they would be that tight.

I use a Star to lube that should have less leverage than your RCBS press but when I size un-lubed bullets I use that little tub of Hornady case lube, a very small amount on my fingers is plenty to lube the bullets just by handling them to place in the die. Sizing is effortless.

When I first tried that 170gr .311 boolits that I had quench hardened, it was nearly impossible and I even broke the link on my Lyman lube sizer. So, I remelted, recast, sized and then oven/quench treated before lubing. Lot of trouble, good result.

That seems odd to me as well.

I run Lee 160 and 200 grain 309 bullets through a .309 sizing die with Hornady gas checks. Both molds drop bullets in the .310-.311 range.

Do you have your die adjusted so it is sizing at the bottom of the stroke where the leverage is the greatest?

Pan lubed? Those look tumble-lubed to me. They also look really good. "Pan lubing" is a technique for using conventional, firm, waxy type lubes without a pressure-type sizer/luber.

Why are you sizing .308"? Seem small for most .30s. Have you "slugged" your bore and measured the groove diameter of the soft lead slug?
