I get a lot of PM's asking me what is the difference between KIK and Swiss mostly.

Well I just got all of my .44-2-5/8 BN (90) brass fire formed, the shoulders blew out real nice, so I started to work up a load to use for the up coming shoots at Alliance and Lodi.

I just set up on my back yard 135 yard range and shot 10 rounds 5 shots each using a none compressed load of 96 grains of 2FG swiss and 5 rounds of none compressed KIK 1.5 FG of 86 grains. The swiss is 10 grains heavier then the KIK using the same volume of powder. This is what the target shows the difference between a swiss load and a KIK load using the same volume of powder.
I covered up the first shot with both loads shot from a clean oiled bore.

The only difference I see between the KIK and Swiss is I use 10 grains less powder per load using KIK.
I didn't measure the groups but the 100 yard small bore target has a 1" X ring.

I think I will have some KIK in with my next order. What powder are you useing to fire form?

I used just stuff I saved from emptying bad loads dust 1-3F odds and ends of empty cans and sweeping up spilled powder.
nothing special that gets saved for forming shoulders using straight wall cases.

Thanks for posting this. I was just thinking today of trying ten pounds of KiK. You put me over the top.
