I have an old saeco melting pot that has a broken temp knob and a missing pour lever knob. I was wondering if anyone has had luck finding replacements?

I broke one many years ago. Replaced it with a knob off an old radio. Fit perfectly.

Today it would probably be easier to find the Saeco knob than the old tube type radio.

Using the ones found on antique radios, record players, etc is a great idea. They were usually made from a substance called bakelite which was heat tolerant so they would be just the ticket for a melting pot. Some had pointers or were shaped like such, but round ones can work very well if you file or paint a witness mark on it. f you cannot find any antique source then the hardware store will usually have something that will work. If you're not near a Radio Shack They have "chickenhead" knobs at electronic repair sites.

I'd be careful of what the knob is made of. That SAECO knob gets plenty hot and the wrong kind of plastic will melt.

I decided to fix my old temp knob. I also fixed my cracked on and off switch and cut a chunk off of an old ratchet wrench for the pour knob. Now I need to strip the entire furnace down for a coat of hi temp black.
