I'm new on here and glad to be a member. Here is my problem i have been molding for years but i started molding for my 40 S&W i have a LEE 2 cav. mold never have i had this problem but when the bullets come out there what i call PILED UP looks like the lead is stacked i'm using a LEE furnace. SO what is my problem. Looks like they might be not hot enough. LET ME KNOW WHAT YA'LL THINK

Yep, sounds like they, both the melt and the mold are too cold. When this cold the lead cools as it hits the bottom of the mold and "Layers" up to the top of the mold...

Dip a corner of the aluminum mold in the melt to get the mold hot enough. Raise you lead temperature up about 50degrees higher.
Cast fast or keep heating the mold in the melt.

make sure you have a good stream of lead also.

Be sure you degrease that mold carefully. I use 409 for degreasing but most people use a spray degreaser.

I guess i was rushing it after it got hot it went fine as frog hair split 6 ways

Good for you Tim, just remember pot temp and mould temp are 2 different things. Pot temp you control with the thermostat setting. Mould temp you control with your casting pace. Don't sit there with an empty mould looking at your boolits, keep it full of hot lead till the boolits start frosting, then slow your pace a bit.
