Sunday while we were in Church I was informed that a great soul had left us that very morning at 10:00 am. His Name is Richard Unger. he was a wonderful man served his Country in the Marines. was "blown up" as he put it on Iwo 1 week after he arrived there.
He was a squad leader and he and his men were low crawling up a gully and they were all wounded. He took 1 man and rolled him up onto (Richards back )laying on top of Richard he then took 1 more by the hand and crawled back down the mountain. While crawling down back to the beach he was "blown up" by a mortar round in front
of him.

He was wounded again lost most of his eye sight and it killed the guy on his back and the one he had by the hand.

I got to know him later in his life a humble, spiritual, kind and loving man.

Miss you old friend. Till we meet again.

There should be a high place in heaven for such men because they sure spent there time in hell already.
