I'm currently using Lee Liquid Alox on most of my cast boolits. Seems to work pretty well. Here's my question. Do you wipe the lube off the nose of the boolits to keep it from gunking everything up? I'm doing this, but it's a pain. What do all of you do?

I set my bullets on a wax paper covered board nose up and allow them to dry. By doing so most of the alox on the nose runs down into the grooves and whats left is little enough that I don't worry with cleaning. Oh, that and with gallons of it available in the group buy - its not like its worth trying to conserve and reuse the stuff.[smilie=1:

I do the same as wiljen. If the boolits are being stored, loose or as ammo, I leave it on because it will prevent the lead from discoloring from oxidation. For bench shooting, I don't bother removing it but for ammo that gets to hunt I clean it off with something like Birchwood Casey's Gun Scrubber. That ammo is going from pockets to magazine and back so I don't want it picking up dirt, lent, etc.

I pour a bit of Hoppes #9 in a little bowl and dip the nose of the boolit. A quick wipe with a rag and it is clean.
