Bought a snubby Charter Arms and wondering if its worth the trouble to buy dies, molds and 500 rds. brass (starline) when I could have bought a S&W hammerless 38 which I already have plenty of brass, moulds etc. If I do get a 6 cav. Lee mold for the 311-93 gr. bullet I could use it in my 762x25, 303, 765 Arg. Anyone tinkering with the 32 Mag......Smaller bullets will be easier on my lead supply as this cost keeps rising Just thinking out loud.:|:|....afish4570

It must be the weekend for .32 calibers. I shoot 32-20 and 32 magnum both. The 32 mag is versatile, I have a single shot Contender and an NEF revolver. Is it worth it? Yes. It is cheaper on bullets and powder. These are small game rounds that can be used for defense (my 41 magnum says it will take over now, lol).

I shoot the 32 magnum the most, my 32-20 is a silhouette match gun.

This is 'possum killer', a handy-dandy little double action.

This is a custom 'walking pistol' built on 32 magnum platform.

32 mag is best at .314 for the most part, unless you work with the TC Contender. I use two loads in 32 magnum, one for 100 yard and one for subsonic 50 meters. Both tend to be loud.

RCBS 32-098-SWC 98 grain bullet
Starline Brass
Winchester primers
1.9 grains of Bullseye to 100 meters
1.4 grains of Bullseye to 50 meters with excellent accuracy.
My lube is always Carnuba Red by White Label

And the 32-20 is a whole other story.

Yep, been messing around with 32 H&R with a Lee 6-cav 93gr mold. Even worked up some 160gr cast loads...

Cheap gun to plink with and dispatch varmints.

That's about the coolest round I've seen in awhile.

Yea with the 98 Gr RCBS, & 3.5 gr Unique your costs per 1000 are:
1/2 lb powder bought in 8 lb kegs $9
10 lbs lead $1 lb $10
sp primers @ 5000 sleeve sale + shiping $20
50 32 long cases reloaded 20 times $7.50
Total costs $46.50 per 1000. Find your own lead, drop to 2 gr powder and costs are under 22 lr.

The 32 caliber revolver rounds are VERY MUCH alive and well here.

No time with the Lee 93, but quite a bit with that firm's 100 grain RN. It won't cast over .312" regardless of alloy, and both of my S&W 32 revos have .314" throats.

I do have Lymans #313249 and #313492. Both "clean up" in a .314" sizer die to fit my wide-throated S&Ws. My RCBS 98 SWC casts @ .315" in WW alloy, so it's good to go as well. That RCBS SWC is very hard to beat in 32 SWL or Magnum.

I have had a S&W 6" mod 16 for quite a few years now. I shoot .32 mag but I also shot a lot of .32 S&WL also. Like shooting .38's in a .357 mag.

One of these days I will get a T/C barrel also, I really like the .32's.

Keep the .32.

If you're anything like a lot of the guys here, you'll find you enjoy shooting it for the sake of shooting it.

I have a progressive that loads nothing but .32, and my wife and I shoot the .32's more than everything else combined. To be fair, most of this shooting has been with the .32 long, but since I've recently acquired 2 .32 magnums, and I have some brass on the way now, I'll be messing with the magnum some as well.

It is very economical, and the guns tend to be accurate. This combination makes the fun factor pretty high.

I haven't messed with the 93 gr RN, but I suspect you'll probably need to beagle the mold to get it to a good size for the charter. That's based on my experience with the other lee .311 molds.

Good luck, and have fun!
