I have done lots of writing and publication in my profession, but that was my first fling at fiction. I have several more drafted and some day I will put enough polish on them to let the public put eyes on them.

There was indeed a fellow who felt the need to start his own church and his family was his members. He did take to parading down main street after his service shooting to show his displeasure with the towns attitude toward his church. The town did get one of their own deputized and that deputy did confront the preacher and ask him, "by what authority do you do these things". The preacher raised his rifle and said, "By this authority, you SOB" whereupon the deputy shot him graveyard dead in the middle of the street.

All of that is true, I have just filled in the blanks. The preacher was a well known and respected member of the community, but his conduct became more and more bizarre until he became a danger to the community. I suspect these days and times, we would understand him in terms of mental illness.
