I was wondering,If I get a line on some of my boolits when I cast.can I just size and shoot them w/o any problems?

It would be unusual if you didn't get a line...not joking.

A small seam is normal. Flashing isn't.

Keep the mould closed firmly, even tapping a new tight mould when closing it can help.

It's possible that you have a speck of lead on the inside face of one of the mold blocks if this is new. Such a speck will be barely visible but will hold the mold halfs open just enough to make a slightly bigger boolit and create such a seam.

Thanks guys.I have noticed some "flashing" I think. That's when the lead seeps out do to the molds not closed tight???I just re-cast those. If I get a very minute amount of flashing(on the nose)is that okay to size and use?

check the mold halves
may have a smear of lead on one or both
the parting lines are no biggie like the others have said

Sometimes squeezing too hard on the handles can cause large seams or flashing.

Peened mold metal, warped molds, proud or crooked alignment pins, and as white eagle said, the tiniest flake of lead on the mold face can do it, too.

When I got my very first mold I did the whole prep thing with everything I could find on doing so. Not knowing any better I went a little overboard on my taking a sharp knife to the edges of the cavitys and now my boolits have a stripe or seam mark around them.
I didn't think I took much off but it was enough to leave a seam mark, I shoot these as cast and they do fine.
