I need the correct OAL for this cartridge. The one listed in my manual seems too long. Do I seat the boolit to where all the grooves are in the case?

I'm using 1.165" for this exact boolit. It feeds very reliably in by STI Trojan 1911.

Your barrel and magazine determines the "correct" OAL.

1.125 as indicated by the load data from Hodgdon website for Win 231. But as already stated, this can vary.

I had recently purchase 1k rounds of american eagle 9mm that was also 1.125.

The LEE 356-125 is the same length as Berry's plated 125 Round Nose and this appears to be what is in the American Eagle rounds. I also have several hundred of the Berry's plated RN's and use the same OAL.

So, 1.125 might not be the perfect for all applications, but it does seem to be used quite often and is working out very well for me.

Also...are these the Tumble Lube version? Mine are not. I avoid the TLs for this very reason. Sometimes you have to leave lube grooves exposed to get the right OAL and I can't stand that.

Yes, it is the TL model mold. seems I have to leave some of the micro grooves showing to reach that OAL of 1.125. Thanks for the input fellas!

I seat mine so the top edge of the driving band/lube grooves is flush with the case mouth. I usually seat other 9mm bullets oal 1.125" but these I set deeper and they shoot fine.
