Took my second deer of the season with my .308 and 311291. A whitetail spike buck at 115 yards. It was standing broadside and I hit it right behind the shoulder. The boolit didn't impact anything harder than ribs, so no wonder it zipped right on through. The deer hunched up and ran 50 yards before piling up. Hmmm...I think we'll throw a roast in the slow cooker this weekend.

Congrats, I am always interested in how bullets preform. Did this bullet just blow through making a 30 cal hole?

Oh by the my dad has that same rifle in the safe, great guns aint they. Dads with print .75 at 100 with nosler ballistic tips.

I would say the boolit left a "thumb sized" exit hole. Bigger than I would have thought under the circumstance. Yup, love that M788. It was surprisingly easy to develop an accurate load at hunting velocities. I’ll probably be pulling my hair out on the next rifle.

Well done! I've go a similar load with 311041HP for my 788. Handy rifles and quite accurate. Again; good hunting and good shooting!
