Lee cast boolit tl314-90-swc
Why does this boolit have such small lube grooves compared to other boolits?
Will these small grooves hold enough lube if the lube is applied during the sizing process?

The key here is the TL in the TL314. TL is for tumble lube which is what it is designed for. You can use regular lube also. Sometimes it does not work as well. I would go with what it is made for and tumble lube it with alox. Should work fine then.

Thanks for the explanation Mooman76.

I will give it a try.

This boolit, tumble lubed, and sized to .314 works quite well in my daughter's Ruger Sp 101 in .32 H&R magnum. She's fired several hundred of them with no issues and amazing accuracy.

TL can work, I don't like it but the boolits shoot good with regular lube. I don't know THAT boolit but most TL boolits I use can shoot better then a boolit with one large GG.

You gotta try 45/45/10. Its easy to make and it makes your LLA go so much farther. I almost cant believe that it works so well when there is so little of it on the boolits, but it sure does!

my 2¢ on TL
one of the first molds I bought was a used Lee 41 cal TL.
I cast about 300 or so on my second "ever" casting session with straight WW alloy.
I used one coat of 45-45-10 (unsized) on them and brought them to last years gun show.
there was no interest. They were ugly, poorly filled out, in fact the bases
were so rounded, they looked like a bevel base. Just last week I found them,
I figured I should just remelt them, BUT, I thought I'd load a few before I remelt them.
they measured around .412
Ayway, I shot 50 of them last week. There was no problems with accuracy and
no leading in the barrel of my RBH...I guess I won't melt them down.

Shoot well or not, I always cull ugly pills. It is just too easy to cast good ones.
