Just tried melting 15 pounds last night, with my gas burner set up and it took near 45mins!! Giving up on it for an electric dipper pot. Thinkin of the Lee Magnum melter?? Which should melt in half that time with better temp control! Any recommendations??

Yes the Lee will melt a pot in about 20 minutes. I like mine just fine. Gas can be faster depending on the setup. I used to melt a 20# pot on the kitchen stove in 30 minutes.

I recommend you get a better gas burner. Using a cheap turkey fryer, I melt 150 pounds in less than 45 minutes. Way less. For many years I used a white gas Coleman camp stove. That would melt 40 pounds in well under 45 minutes also.
