From this thread is where it started.
http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=110516

I will be running the GB and we well be using Night Owl Enterprise (NOE) to make the moulds.

A minimum of 15 orders for moulds is required to waive the tooling cost and be placed on the production schedule for either Brass or Alum.

There will be two separate buys for this, one for Brass and one for Alum. These will be ran at the same time. So state what you want.

Post your order on this thread. I will keep the post below this updated with the orders. When the 15th order has been placed (doesn't have to be paid for) we will then be put on NOE's production schedule.

You may order any number of cavities available. You will just need to pay the appropriate price.
ALUMINUM Mould prices
(there will need to be 15 orders for aluminum in order to get this on the production schedule)
1 cavity moulds are $68 ea.
2 cavity moulds are $72 ea.
3 cavity moulds are $79 ea.
4 cavity moulds are $85 ea.
5 cavity moulds are $92 ea.

BRASS Mould Prices
(there will need to be 15 orders for brass in order to get this on the production schedule)
Single cavity brass mould $90.00 Ea.
Double cavity brass mould $94.00 Ea.
Four cavity brass mould $111.00 Ea.

The hollow point option for one cavity will be the standard $35.
Blank Hollow point pins will be an extra $1.50 each.
There will not be an RG option.

Plain base and GC options are available.
You may mix and match PB and GC in the same mould.
Shipping to you with insurance will be $10

A Lyman, RCBS type top punch is included along with sprue lube.

Arden, NC 28704

What you must do:
Send me a letter with your handle, your shipping address, what you ordered, and the money. (check or MO is fine)

The buy will remain open until one month prior to production. ONE MONTH PRIOR TO PRODUCTION I WILL CALL FOR PAYMENT. You do not need to pay prior to this, but you can if you want.
When I call for payment I will need all payments in within the week or you will miss out.

For those out of country please PM me for details on payment options and shipping costs.

NOE will ship them all to me and I’ll test cast with a few of them and then if all is well, send out the moulds.

The buy will remain open until one month prior to production, then it will close and a call for payment will be made.

Here is a link to the production schedule.

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=142415
Only one size will be ran .312x.302 nose.

Here are the pics with dimensions

Alum moulds will be offered in this also.

NOE has decided they will run it in alum, no sense haveing just the brass option. It would be NICE to have 15 or more in the alum but that is not necessary.

If you want to change from Brass to Alum, just post here and I will set it straight, and square the money difference too.

Out of curiosity, why can't this be done with diameter options or RG?

Blammer
02-06-2012, 08:52 PM
diameter options were tried with a few GB runs and it was very taxing and costly at the manufacturing end, so it was not very viable for the maker.

RG's are not available because the bullet is too light, it won't fall off of the pin, and since you can't take the pin out before opening the mould your just TUFF Puppy.

Dschuttig
02-06-2012, 09:20 PM
I've had a few rifle molds converted to cramer type, and I know everyone hates that graphite spray, but it works really well on the hollow point pins. Both for release and cutting surface tension for even Hp cavities. Wondering about the size because I would love to use this in my oversize mil 30's but .312 is just a little to small, and my lyman 311290 cast just under .309, to small.

Much prefer an aluminum 5 cav. but that would be a long way out, so put me down for a 4cav GC Brass.

A striking new development!

I have sent out a PM to those I saw were interested in an alum mould.

Well Blammer this thread was started 1 year ago tomorrow and we are all the way up to 20 molds. Chances of getting to 30 any time soon seems remote. The NOE schedule already extends to next year and this mold is number 15 of the unscheduled molds which adds another 7 months (July 2013) to that if nothing else changes. Any more popular mold that comes along bumps this mold back farther.

Any chance of having Miha do this mold instead of NOE?

Actually I do have one of your molds from the 243/6mm GB. I like the mold and certainly want NOE to stay in the mold business. Waiting a year for a quality mold from NOE isn't a problem either, although not ideal.

With the new policy however we could wait a year and find this mold in the exact same position as it is today - at least a year out and not any closer to being on the schedule. That is a problem. Especially if there are other quality mold makers who will schedule it.

I haven't gone anywhere - yet.

Yup... one year and counting. Pehaps Miha might do this (in brass) quicker...

I am a sucker for brass molds, but now that aluminum is being offered, I sense mutiny. Not holding my breath for this one to become a reality.
