Does any body know of a good, free, ballistics calculator? Something where I can put in the velocity of the boolit at the muzzel, zero point of the sights, ballistic coefficient of the projectile, and maybe the ability to mess with wind value to get a solution for a given distance. I used to just shoot the doggon target to find out all of this info, but the rifle range is in a bad way (tornado damage) and I need a way to get a close guesstimate of boolit performance so that I can work up a load at the other range (40yrd) while the big one is getting fixed.

that is so cool! Thanks fecmech. I looked at Hodgdon but I couldn't find the calculator. They give generic load data with speeds etc but I couldn't find anything custom.

Pointblank calculator is one that is free that you can put on your computer which gives you all the information you need. In addition you can print the information out or save as a file for future use. I like and use the old version which is v1.8a but there is a new version out that is v.2.0. Here is a place to down load a zip file of the older version. http://www.classichunts.com/ It's a very small program that works well and it is free.

Here are a couple screen shots from my computer.

I kept downloading this 30 day demo for about a year from RSI.
http://www.shootingsoftware.com/ftp.htm
Finally decided I liked it well enough, I bought it for use of all the features.
But the Demo sufficed for all the basics, if that's what you want or need.
I'm not a 100% certain it is correct or true, but heard this software was developed for Aberdeen Proving Ground
