Those of you that have been reading the posts following the Nevada Cast Boolit Shoot may have noticed in Walt's post about the shoot that he returned home and was feeling a bit puny. Turns out he had a fairly large heart attack Friday and received a triple bypass surgery as a result. I was in Ely over the weekend and called his daughters house to get his latest phone number to look him up. What I got was this dire news instead. The surgery went well and he is out of ICU and seems to be recovering as well as can be expected. I will post any news I hear, but in the meantime let's all keep Walt in our prayers.

This is dreadful news.

It's only offset by the report that he's doing well so far.

I'm wondering if his evident fatigue at the Nevada Cast Boolit Shoot was a symptom of the heart problem?

Thanks for the report, Bruce, and for doing the follow-up to get the latest information.

Walt, whenever you get to read this, be assured that you had (and have) a LOT of people worried about you.

Walt, I had one of those triple bypass things about 1998. They'll probably give you a heart-shaped red pillow which will become your very good friend. I still have mine on a shelf in the bedroom. You can walk your way to get back in shape. I walked about ten yards the first day I felt up to it. Gradually the distance worked up to five or six miles a day, five days a week, and about ten lbs. of wheel weights a month. Maybe we can collaborate on a book, "Walking for health and boolit metal." We'll be praying for you, Bill and Fran

Hang in there Walt and get well soon. We're here for ya.

I know he was dead tired at the shoot. Got some good shuteye in the cab of his truck right at the firing line, and slept like a baby.

Jolting news, this. Walt looked a little "peaked" at NCBS, thankfully he or someone recognized a problem and had it addressed in timely fashion. Thoughts and prayers outbound, from our house to yours.
