I have recently acquired what seems like a lifetime supply of cast boolits from an estate. Some of the boolits have been sized and lubed. Have no idea what lube was used. Lube is still sticky. Question is do I load boolits or throw them into a bucket of mineral spirits to clean off lube and relube. These are .30 cal boolits , 311291 with gaschecks in place. Shoot at low velocities, 1200-1400fps. Part of what I acquired was a 3# coffee can full of a mix of 311291, 311284 and an 8mm version of 311413. If anyone wants to try samples let me know. Duckiller

I'd load a couple dozen of them and see if they lead at all. If the lube works, why bother with the hassle of relubing them. That's what I'd do FWIW.

I had a box of 311284's that I had cast and lubed well over 25 years ago, with a lube that I used to make (beeswax, vasoline & graphite). Shot as good as the day I lubed and sized them. Guess it would depend on the lube, but you have nothing to loose by trying a few.

is the lube dirty or full of rust? Since the lube is still "sticky" it just MIGHT be good.Shoot them as you would normally and see what happens.

If its sticky enough to stay on the bullets its probably fine
