I like how guy shoots ROA on this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQVu3d3NpxU (talking about load, not about shooting without safety glasses). He shoots ROA here like real gun, not just small pop as others use it. Here are the loads http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=72845 . The most interesting is 250 gr REAL from Lee. However, some folks reported problem with bit stiffer load since boolits moving forward in cylinder because of recoil. Now, what if we have boolit with one or two deeper groove(s) to accommodate adequate O-ring(s) like this one http://www.mcmaster.com/#o-rings/=cidnd5 from McMaster-Carr? Due its elasticity, it will help to keep boolit in its place in the cylinder, and as additional benefit, it will seal chamber much better than boolit alone.

Anybody done this or similar? What do you think about this idea?

I have a ROA and like it a lot. I know of a fella near here that shoots his with VERY stout loads. I would say if you have problems with boolit jump in your ROA, the boolit is too small for the cylinder. I would not put o-rings in my Ruger, but that's just me. I get a perfect seal by using grease over the boolit.
Also, nothing wrong with the 250 REAL boolit, but Lee makes a 220RN just for the ROA. I have one and it works well.

I shoot REALs out of my ROA over 24 grains 777 and a wonder wad. I dont have the high front sight blade mod done yet, so any more powder would make the pistol shoot way too high for the sights I have. Mine shoots high as it is.
Even with my load I get the occasional boolit moving forward. I do like the REAL boolits though - I'll bet using that loading block makes it much easier than using the ram in the pistol...
