Getting the swing of things

I just wanted to make a progress report.

My first mould, a Lee 190 SWC 2-holer, from EBay. It cast up some nice boolts, but was already showing age when I got it. So, I sent it in to Lee, and traded it on a 6-hole of the same boolit.

I got it today, sat down and cleaned the heck out of it, then smoked it and started running lead through it.

Guys, I'm starting to really get the hang of it! I churned out 200 nice boolits in about 30 minutes, and that includes adding more metal, and re-melting the sprues. I had beautiful fill-out, and the boolits fell out of the mold without effort.

Things are starting to come together! Just thought I'd pass along my excitement.

Rob, it's great when things go as planned. You have reached the point where casting changes, from beating your head against the wall, to pleasure. (It took me a few decades to get there.)

...............Sublime, ain't it sublime!:-) BTW, I have a Ruger Vaquero in 45 Colt that really like that boolit.
