Recently I purchased a Ranch Dog-Lee 6-cavity mold that drops a 85 gr GC micro-groove 25 caliber boolit. Standard wheel-weights. Sized .2585, and lubed with Lee alox. Tried six different powders (4227,5744,4198,RL-7,SR-4759,Unique) that have proven satisfactory in other calIbers. All loads approx. 1600-1750 fps. Neck sized cases. All loads, except the 4227, were unacceptable in accuracy. The 4227 only barely..just barely. Patterns not groups. Can anyone, who has had actual experience, give me any help. Interested in accuracy, not velocity. Everyone who responded to an earlier post concerning my 270, were a great help. Thanks.

Have you adjusted your powder charges up or down a little to see if that will improve your accuracy. From what I have heard (haven't tried boolits yet in my M99), there is a sweet spot up around 1800-1850 fps in these rifles. This varies by individual rifle. The Unique or 2400 should produce pretty good loads with proper pressure being developed.

Thanks for posting the question. I'll be following it for a while to see other responses. The only reason I haven't tried any cast boolits in mine yet is that I haven't found a mold that I like when I have the cash to purchase it. I have been looking for either an 85gr or 100gr FP boolit for mine.
