Wrote my review of it months ago. It was discussed in detail here. A Search will retrieve that thread for you.

If you got a link I would appreciate it I have never found the search feature here to be worth a darn.

Actually, I prefer the 3rd Edition. Although the 4th has more powders and bullets listed, it seems to me to lack the charts and other info for the "simple minded" (me). The section on metallurgy is written by a Phd. and it sure reads like it! 14.25 miles over my head!...

The 4th is just like the 1st., 2nd, and third in concept, and that is as a reference manual. Like them all. Best part of the 4th. to me is that mine is not dog eared yet like the others. Worst part of it is that it is not drilled like the third edition so that it can be put in a notebook. Good and bad points in all of them. They are all references and great for comlparison. Can't have to many reloading manuals!

As a handloader of over fifty years standing and a serious caster of over forty years standing I have every Lyman loading manual going back to 1957 and all of Lyman's Cast bullet Manuals. Every one is IMO indispensible.

The jacketed bullet makers' loading manuals I buy selectively, aquiring enough to keep current while avoiding redundancy (read reissuing) as best as I can.

I just got mine the other day, I found the article on metallurgy to be very interesting and immediately got over some of the old wives tales I've been told

I have it and I find the book very informative. I'm happy to have it as a reference. My only beef is is Lyman published loads in all their books for a 120 grain boolit in both .38 special and .357. There may be folks that shoot a 120 grain boolit, but I've never seen one and never seen a mould for that boolit. I thought the 120 grain load data was kind of a waste of space, and other load data could have been put in it's place for a more common size or style of boolit.
Just my .02 worth .... which isn't worth much these days anyway ....

120 gr bullets in 38/357 are common for cowboy action shooters that want easy to shoot loads rather than the more realistic 44/45 loads.
