I'd like one,then I could see the suggestions and reviews of different magnifications,for different calibers and just a need for more information on picking the right scope for game and caliber.

I don't know very much about scopes yet.
I would love to hear others opinions and advise.
I have only had a few, only two right now.
One on a 17 HMR and one on a Hiwall 45-70.

Just don't make a spectacle of your self.
I thing it would be a good idea but how about making it Sights, for both scope and iron sights as they are half of the accuracy with the gun and ammo being the other half.

Yeah, 'Sights' would be a good general heading and could be sub-headed 'iron' or 'glass'................some of our less-experienced would benefit, not having to learn some things the hard way. I'm sure there's some out there who still can't tranlate "inches/minutes/clicks", or who have never heard of nor used 'Halford's Quadrant' in the field.

Great idea, Lloyd, and troy's two sub sections are worthy too. When you think of how much territory "optics" takes in maybe it could stand on its own feet. Scopes, spotting scopes and stands, bore scopes, collimators, binoculars, shooting glasses and their attachments make an impressive list, and then there are the irons in all their variety.

not debating that the topic is not interesting, just saying we already have well over 50 different areas to discuss and debate items of interest here, it is very difficult to convince me to chop it up even more at this point.

Many folks might think the mission here is forgotten , the "dedicated to cast bullets" but that is still job number one in my daily task list, remember the mission.
I fear that too much dilution takes away from that mission and that is why I remain reluctant.

That was kinda my thought when the rimfire section was introduced. I don't know anyone that cast for them. Just found it sort of strange.
I guess maybe it's just that is such a great bunch of folks some of us want to have a place to discuss everything here.

Perhaps it would be a more relevant request on the Gunloads forum? How about alerting Willy, see if he might be interested in adding an optics forum over there, since it's a more general reloading/shooting/hunting/fishing related forum? Plus, it's a lot less topic-crowded than here.
