I have a CVA 50 caliber kit rifle that I shoot quite a bit.
Also a 32 caliber pistol that doesn't do much but give me a lot of fun.

My two most shot pistols are a Ruger Old Army that I have had since 1974 and a Remington 1858 by Piatta that I bought back in 1990. Both have several thousand rounds through them. As for a single shot pistol I have a Lyman Great Plains pistol in 50 cal that I use for BP Rendezvous Were they do not allow revolvers in competition. I generally put around a 100 rounds a year through it but not anything to compare to my revolvers. I just acquired a Stainless Ruger OA that will probably be my main shooting iron if it shoots as well as my old blued one.

My .32 cal Bean style Tenessee longrifle. Built it about 10 years ago and it is a hoot to shoot.

For me, it would be one of my 1860 clones.

For a rifle, my Zoli, 1803 Harpers Ferry, the old one with the 58 caliber barrel.

I regularly shoot a CVA Kentucky Target Pistol and a T/C Patriot Pistol, both are in .45 caliber, a CVA Hawken rifle in .50 caliber and Remington Zouave Rifle in .58 caliber. All shoot well with a patched round ball.

Replica 1851 Colt .36. Probably the best all around BP revolver, and fits the hand of the average shooter better than most others.
The Remington solid frame has theoretical advantages, but the Colt open topped frames get my vote.

PS
The Spiller & Burr looks like it would be a very nice plinker and a good introductory BP revolver. The few that I've seen had limited chamber space, so power levels would be closer to .32 S&W or .22 LR than the more potent Colt and Remington pistols. Still plenty enough for small game and target shooting though.

My 28 ga tradegun, hope to get to spend more time with the Gibbs rifle. If it works this comming weekend, and I get to go to the shoot, the 10 ga doubble and the 58 Enfield are up.

Lately I haven't shot much but mostly a little 32 cal CVA. I want to start shooting more BP and will probably start going with my Dixie 32 or something a little beefier without wasting allot of powder and go with a Kentucky 45.

Two T/C Renegades. One flint, one percussion, both .58 caliber. The range I go to is open one, sometimes two weekends a month, and one of the Renegades always goes. 50 - 100 rounds a month.

I tend to go back and forth between guns, but here lately I have been shooting my original 69cal. Harpers Ferry. For years it hung over the fire place, but a couple of years ago I decided to take it Dove hunting I found out it shot about 2 feet low at 25 yards. I brought it back home and bent the barrel on a big chunk of lead held in a vise. Now it shoots pretty much dead on out to about 80 yards with round ball. Now hunt big game, upland and water fowl, turkeys and small game. I love the look on the Game Warden's face when he see's me with it.

I pretty much rotate though all of them so I can keep tuned into the quirks of each- from a ca 1800 or earlier flinter through modern inline. BTW- while the inline is a top quality gun, it has been sitting for about 15 years with no plans to shoot it again. Just not my cup o tea. Lately been shooting a 45 cal caplock roundball gun quite a bit. My favorites to shoot are a 50 cal flinter and an 1863 Rem Zouave.

I, too, regularly rotate shooting all my frontstuffers - mostly caplock .32, .36, .45, & .54's - but enjoy shooting my .50cal Austin & Halleck rocklock the most.

It's a 1:66 roundball rifle - and accurate to a fairtheewell, since it's ignition time is faster than any of my caplocks.

These two get the most use here. I like being able to use the same ball size for both guns at shoots.

Both get shot at least 50 rounds a month in the winter, considerably more in the summer.

I shoot my (highly modified) T/C Renegade .54 Flinter the most; the only T/C parts still on it are the stock and buttplate - Green Mountain 32" RB barrel, L&R replacement lock, Davis triggers, Lyman TG, and Firesights.

One of these days I'll get around to installing a more traditionally styled stock and get away from what I call the 'New England Wannabe Hawken' styling.

My go-to muzzleloading weapon is a New England Clubutt Fowler in 77 bore that my friend made for me. He made it lock, stock and almost barrel.

They look kinda gawmy but the truth is that they point and handle wonderfully.

Mark, we don't get to see many Hudson Valley fowlers out here. Thanks for posting!

Have been skirmishing 30 years. I shoot my musket and Smith carbine the most.
At least 1600 rounds a year through each one.

Pictures kind of speak for themselves. I did a lot of squirrel hunting with the little 25 rifle. The fowlers see a bit of use also. I have not broken any out yet this pspring and have to finish the 20 bore as I shot it in the rough. I like to shoot at clays a bit with the smoothbores. If I get a grouse on the wing with one, that will be a very unlucky day for that grouse. Still they are fun.

There is not a finer looking gun than a long black powder rifle with a full length wood stock.
I have to joke about the kids that like the ugly military style guns they buy now days. The more it looks like "Farm Machinery", the more they seem to like it. I simply don't get it.

Must be tough farming where you are.

When I go to smoke out the folks with black rifles, my TC Hawken with .40 GM barrel makes just about every trip.

The gun that I shoot the most is a flintlock fowler in 20 ga. In the fall I hunt small game with shot and roundball for deer. In the spring I use it for turkeys. Of all black powder long guns that I have owned, I like the versatile cylinder smoothbore. It is very reliable and I admit that it takes more shooting to find the right load for the gun, but well worth it. Thanks, Jerry

A pair, actually. Pietta .36 '58 Remmies that someone had "antiqued", and sold as a pair on gunbroker. They shoot very well with everything from .22LR equivalent, to all the powder the cylinder will hold.
