I have an old ideal 257418 mould in very good condition. Will the bullets made from this mould fit in my .22 Savage High Power? Thanks .

No Sir I dont think so. Your mold is for a 25 caliber and your rifle is a 22 caliber. It is a fat 22 caliber to be sure but not that fat.
I will trade you some boolits that will work in your High Power for that mold.

Nope, my 418 drops around .258-9. For a Hi Power you want something around .229-.231. The proper mould is Lyman 228035 or 228367. Best of luck locating one of them. An alternative might be to find a 22 cal mould that casts "fat" and lap it out a bit. I've seen 22 moulds dropping .226 so that's a lot closer than most anything else.

BTW the mold I have that is for the 22HP is one made by RCBS. It is a FNGC at about 70+gn.

Forgot about that one Dan. I haven't looked at RCBS's special order list in a long time. No idea if it's still available.

Another way you could go is to buy a bumping die and bump up a commercially available heavy .224". Something like the Speer 70gn semi point should work good.
