I took my Lee .429-240-SWCGC and made it drop .434. Used Go Jo hand cleaner, drilled a hole in the base of a boolit cast from that mold and threaded a screw into it. Used an electric drill to spin the boolit. I can run them though my .432 Lee sizer and get good contact all the way around. Pretty happy with it for my Marlin 44 mag.

Glad you got what you wanted. I've done a couple and it is a challenge!

Good deal.

I've done a few, too, and aluminum is much easier and faster than iron.

I thought the boolit would wear out faster than it did. But it held up pretty well.

I like the method someone came up with here of pouring lead through a nut and then using a wrench and lapping compound and it's quicker & easier than I thought it would be.

may have thought it up here, but it is nothing new

I have an old book that has that method in it

it is good that people can come up with ideas even though they are not new, they are NEW here to us Noobs.

this place is a great resource

I've been trying to figure out how to make a 429421 mold bigger. It is a Lyman. I cast some linotype thinking they would wear longer when lapping. I can't hardly get them back in the mold. I even segregated the boolits. I cast some out of 94/3/3 and they fit a little better but I can't spin the boolit at all. This is with no pressure on the handles. This is an older mold and the belts are quite square. I tried the nut thing. It just broke off the lead at the top. I got a lapping kit for fire lapping coming from Midway that I'm going to try. If that don't work I'm either going to get rid of it or send it to hollowpointmold dot com. My Ruger bore slugs .4311 and the throats are .4324
