357 boolit, gas check

I have a older mold. It throws a nice 158gr .358 HP.

It has accommodations for a gas check.

Do I have to use a gas check? Or can I lube and size w/o doing so?

You do not have to use a GC but your accuracy may not be what you are looking for. Best to just try and see.
I done some testing ,by accident, using a none checked GC design bullet with air cooled w/w in a.41 mag using just enough 700X to lodge the bullet in the barrel.The base of the bullet was deformed and that was with such a light load.
There is a Sticky about this.

I would not mind starting to GC if I had to. But after reading the link I should be good.

I should add that this would be used in my 686 and Rossi 92.
