Midsouth sells these two molds custom cut from Lee. Sometimes they get them right and most of the time they get cut slightly LARGER. You have that option.

Now, does anybody want these available to order any time with fast delivery, cut to original specification from BRP?

Just checked the MidSouth web pages to see what these look like. I found a Lee 2 cavity @ .324 designated 8mm. Also found another @ .329 which didn't have any caliber designation and no graphic of what the boolit looks like.

Are these what you are referring to?

I'm refering to the Karabiner and Max boolits. Those cast about 0.327" when cut correctly.

No change in specs from what originally was done.

I just got the max one from Midsouth, and it casts out at .323". Kind of small, haven't shot any yet we'll see how it does. A BRP quality one the right size would be very nice.

The specs from the original run are at the links. You know Lee says -0.000" to +0.003" on their production sheet. Kind or outside their spec. range.... isn't it. The to spec. boolits fit (just tried one yesterday in someone elses K98 with a washed throat and it fits it too) and shoot fine...... How about it guys......... a couple from BRP to spec.

I'll second that part about a BRP Quality mold being just the ticket.

I'll take both the Karabiner and the Maximum in the same 4 cavity mold (2 of each) if Bruce is willing to do that or in separate molds if he thinks thats a better idea.

I trust Bruce and 45 2.1 on the mold decisions but I'll take both of these 8mm boolits if I can get them. Bruce just mailed one of his 2 cavity 326-200 Silhoutte's to me and these two would almost complete my collection............of 8mm's

And there is the rub...IF cut to the proper dimensions. I have one of each and neither one is correct. The Max is .329-.330" and is a bit of a pain to size with my lubrisizers due to its length and excess diameter.

And I am still extremely interested.

A lot of us shoot the 8mm in one of its many incarnations. I just got the 180 gr Silhoutte from Bruce at BRP and it is a thing of beauty and casts like a dream. I would love to get at least ONE of the Karabiner or Maximum and would rather have them BOTH.

Anybody else besides Ed and I?

Lee cut the first run of the Karabiner and Max to spec. After that they all seem to be large. The original runs work fine as spec'd. You know as well as I do that Bruce will get it very close to whats needed.

BRP cut to spec for both boolits would interest me.

I have the Karabiner. It won't work in any of my Mausers, Tw0 24/47's and a Turk. To get them to work, I have to seat them so about 1/4 inch is below the neck. I have tried .323 and .325". No go! Will stick in the chamber.

I have the BRP sil. It is spectacular and gives me 3/4 inch groups at 50 yards with 17.5-18 grains of 2400.

If you want to produce a group buy, do it with the sillouette.

I just bought an 8mm Rem Magnum rifle just to shoot these two bullet designs through... please don't tell me that the MidSouth Lee versions are totally sucky... as I haven't cast any boolits with these molds yet.

Is this still a real thing (as I heard that BRP went underground as of June... if I'm not mistaken.)

I want to shoot these designs (with original dimensions)... can we get this thing happening... or what?

Just loaded 100 of the Karabiner. Dropped .329, sized well to .324. Have yet to shoot. Do not be afraid of the mold quality, these rounds dropped well and look great. Will post results in a few days.

Any possibility of having Miha make the 8mm Karabiner cut to spec?
(NOTE: a brass mold for these would be nice...!)

I would like to see these in 2 cavity molds (preferably with HP option) but am not sure whether Miha can do this with the 2-cav mold blocks. Is this possible?

His extra depth blocks might work for this. When I get my computer back up, i'll send him a dwg to find out.

I purchased one of the Karibiners. Its will cast good if I keep the alloy hot. Boolits come out a little frosty, but just fall out of the mold. They drop @ .329 and 230 grains with LYMAN No. 2 alloy. The Meplat is .324 and can't load them anywhere around a grease groove or past the top bearing ring. The boolit has to be seated so deep in my rifle, that if I don't work the bolt without a pause they will sometimes get crossed fed and jam. Someonewho has a rifle with more throating might be able to use these cast boolits and not seat them so far in. I am shooting 29.0 gr of Brigadire 4197and have not a pressure sign in sight at all. They shoot point of aim @ 50 yards, just had to raised the rear sight to hit target at 50 yards. Might bump up the load to see if it will raise the impact. I want a better mold to develope some 8mm Mauser loads. Will try to see if the will shoot, heck of a hunting boolit, who knows. Not thrilled, but does cast a decent chunk of lead.

We are waiting on information as to what the mold maker can do in terms of what options and price. This boolit works fine when it is to spec.
