Making LLA ??

I bought some Alox from Larr / Glen

I am going to make up a batch of 50/50 later in the week

I figured while I was making a mess , I could try to make some LLA
Also I might try to make it a little thiner consistancey

Anyone ever do it ?
I was thinking cutting the Alox with low oder mineral spirts

Or is there something else better to cut it with ?

Any clue what % of each


Ideas , sujestions ??

Johnch, use the mineral spirits, as a thinner, sparingly. I thin LLA to lube boolits before sizing. I use a hospital drinking straw to pull the mineral spirits out of the can, thumb over end of straw dip into mineral spirits aprox 3 to 4 inches deep, twice, deposit into LLA bottle, shake. You will be suprised as to how little mineral spirits it takes to thinn the Lee LLA...................larry

FWIW...LLA and alox 350 are not related...to my knowledge LLA cannot be made from alox 350...someone tell me I am wrong...

Upon further review, I believe you are right. LLA is a solvent reduction of Alox 606, not 350.

And it's available from Lubrizol in 5 gallon buckets or 55 gallon drums as Alox 606-55.
