does anyone cast for the 6.5 Jap? I just got my dads rifle from the family and want to try cast boolits in it. With J word boolits, it don't shoot for diddley. I'm thinken the J words are to small. I have to do a cast on the chamber and bore, yet, to get the true picture.

Do the chamber/throat cast. 6.5 Japs run from .268 all the way to .270. Once you determine your throat diameter mke you boolits HARD as the "medford-style" rifling needs hard (BHN 20+) boolits to shoot accurately IMHO

Have a cabine sporterize First deer rife, I use Lee cruise missle. Bore is .268. Bukllet cast .270. I use 14 g 4759 at about1500 fps. (no GC) Bettter than the J word bullets.
