View Full Version : My Lead Mining Bucket Sifters.

Both the buckets work great. You shovel the dirt in, twist them quickly and the dirt flies out leaving the bigger rocks and lead chunks. You smelt it and the rocks float to the top.

This one sits in a 5 gallon bucket with hooks so as you drive the dirt will fall out.

This one is taller and thinner but the same basic size. No feet or hooks.

Nice. That should work pretty darn good for washing range lead too.

I'd imagine shipping would be a real PITA, but i'd love to get my hands on a strainer like that. :)

An area where I shoot a lot has probably a boatload of lead just below ground level but getting it out would be a lot of work unless you have a good way to get the dirt out of the mix.

It was around $30 for a bucket I think. One of them was a gift so I didn't pay for it. The other one was used so I got a discount.

Use one of those pie crust 12" subwoofer grills. They fit nicely on the bottom of a 5 gal. bucket, just cut out the bottom, and you can attach the grille with zip ties. I have seen that somewhere here before.

Most the dirt I get out of these comes out the sides not the bottom. You twist them by grabbing the handle and twisting quickly.

It looks a lot stouter than a french fry basket.

It took 4 months to get the last one. If there was enough interest I could call him and see if you would make a small batch for people on the forum. Just don't expect things to be fast.
