I've been using a Cat Sneeze type of 22 construction blank adapter in my milsurps for quiet backyard plinking. The LEE 6-CAVITY-311-93-1R #90308 mould makes great little plinkers with a round nose. I also have a LEE mold #90311 that makes truncated cone bullets which have an uncanny ability to bite hard into flat surfaces like sheet metal and wood, even at subsonic velocity. They are far superior to 53 grain spherical 00 buckshot. Been using these in all my 30 cals such as Enfield, Springfield, and Mosin just by sizing differently.

What I really would like is something similar in 8mm for my Mausers. Anyone have any suggestions ? I think the above moulds worked nicely because they were pistol caliber size, but I was unable to find anything running about 0.323". The above bullets are just too small in diameter for the Mauser.

I use and empty 22 LR case full of Unique(2.5g) and the RCBS 310 Cadet bullet(.310 heel .323 ft section).its quiet, cheap and doesn't require and sizing of the case neck.I run the case into the seating die without a bullet to over crimp the case neck enough to hold the .310 heel of the bullet when hand seated. The load shoots one hole at 50' and about 1" at 25 yards. At 50 yds the groups opens up to 4" or better

I located an 8mm RCBS mould at Midway later. Only problem was the $103 plus price tag. I like the bullet style, I'd buy a bunch if I can find someone making them.
