I have a friend who is a machinist and a very skilled one at that. About a year ago I got him into casting. 4 months later he had made a 9mm mold. Many molds since then including some for his airguns. As I understand the only 9mm and .50 cal pellets available is some sort of korean Sing Shung not worth anything. My friend got tired of this and made his own molds. The 9mm is a 85gr and the .50 is a 220gr I believe.

I suggested he tried selling to people who like he, cares a lot for shooting with big bore air guns.

So I ask you, do you think there is a market for these big caliber pellets in America??

Edit: Congratulations to Cast Boolits on their 6 year Anniversary. Sadly I have only been around for 2 years, but have learned SO much from the experts on this forum. God bless.

I am playing with the Lee modern Minie as a hbwc light load for my handy rifle. Maybe these pellets could also be used for light boolits. My rifle is a 500s&w.

IMO, skirted pellets are not the way to go in a bigbore air rifle. Several .32/.308, .357, and .45ACP/.45Colt/.45-70 firearm designs work great in airguns, particularly the designs that have less contact area with the barrel (narrow bands).

Not sure what kind of market there would be as in all my shooting acquaitances, only one has a big bore air rifle. Myself and other are intrigued by the idea but it is not a lack of available bullets that keep us away from the sport.

It might be a regional thing and he would sell a few (or more) in your area. Of course, the internet helps reach all areas so ... A lot would depend on pricing and qualityof molds. Several companies make lightweight bullets that work in air rifles and non air rifles.
