Below is a photo of the receiver of my 6.5 Swedish Mauser. It is drilled and tapped in three places for scope mounts. The tooth picks are to show the hole locations.

I'd like for somebody to steer me to a place where I can get what I need as I don't know much about the right type to get. The rear most hole is 4.3 inches back from the rear hole on the forward ring and the distance between the two front holes is .850, as best I could measure with calipers.

O------4.30 "--------------------------------------------O-----.850 "-------O

I need something that will just get me by as I'm not going to put an expensive scope on this rifle. Plus, I'm on a limited budget for this kinda' stuff. If anybody can tell me where I can get an economical set of bases and rings and what to order, I sure would appreciate the help.

Jim, the spacing looks like it's for a 1 pc base, lepold or redfield. I think midsouth has them for bout $15. If you watch the sale page in the midway flyer, sometimes they are cheaper. The leopys for the 98's are relieved so you don't have to remove the clip ears.

That is standard spacing for Redfield and Leupold one piece bases. Midway lists them as product #474-732 & 287-522.

Ok, so far, so good. Now, can you tell me what kind of rings i need to match this base?
Fellas, I'm sorry to aggravate y'all, but I don't have a clue how to do this.

Jim, get the rings to match the base. The Leupold will be twist in, I'm not sure of the Redding.

Redfield or Leupold rings will both fit. If you get the base, I probably have a used set around the gun room somewhere you can have, p.m. me

You will probably need the high rings on that application, unless the scope is very skinny.
