Who makes a mold for a 200gr round nose bullet? For .45ACP

I have Lee, and RCBS and a Mihec is on the way. Out of those 3 I would get a Lee to do the job till you can get a Mihec.

200 RN would have a very short cylindrical section, don't think I ever saw one that
wasn't really a 230 RN in HP mode. I don't think that a 200 RN would work out
too well in .45 cal. 200 SWCs are common, but most RN are 225 or heavier.

There was a guy here in Ohio, that made them for a long time. It was the fisrt bullet I learned to load. He sold off his equipment and got out of the biz. Some of us who shot them loved them. I still have about a 1000 left. Used them for IDPA,target and whatever. Great bullet.

The Lee isn't a true RN, but RNFP. It will run in most 45s but not all. Magma & Redding (210gr) unless you want to go semi custom.

a 200gr round nose FMJ-RN was the original design of Mr Browning back in 1905 when he first designed the cartridge. It was raised up to 230gr at the request of the Army. If it can be done as a FMJ-RN, I don't see why it can't be done LRN.

There has to be a mold out there somewhere, because I have a box of .452 200gr LRN Lasercast boolits out in the garage.

I had Tom at accuratemolds.com design a 200rn for me it has a small flat point but feeds perfect. I received the mold last friday and spent the weekend casting I got over 1200 cast up and had a chance to shoot it today. It ran thru my xd like butter I couldn't be happier. best part was only waiting exactly 7 days from ordering til in my mailbox

The closest thing I can think of is Lee's 452-200-RF. It's a rounded flat point, so it's close.
I use it for my 45 colt as a plinking round. it's very accurate, I can hit a 4" gong at 100 yards fairly consistently with it pushing around 800 fps.

Magma makes the LC molds I believe. http://www.magmaengineering.com/

Yup, I believe your right, their 200 RN looks like the LC I have. Looking at the chart, the Magma 45-200-RNBB. They have it marked as an IPSC mold, and coincidentaly, that was what I used that boolit for. I had a load using it for two of my 1911's for USPSA and IDPA. That 200 easily made major, had mild recoil and fed like a champ. I might need to go load some up this weekend and compare them against my cast 230's...

When I had my boolit casting business, I milled off a Saeco eight cavity mould #457 45-225-RNBB to drop a 200 RNPB and sold quite a few to IPSC shooters. Sadly the mould block broke. I still have a four cavity that we took a bit too much off of, and it drops about 195 grains

There was the Lyman 45467. Out of production of course.

Depends on the 1911. It feeds in several of mine, even my XD. If you want to try some before ordering a mold, pm me your address & i'll post you a few.

I tried a few in both my High Standard, and S&W 1911, and they fed fine in both. I din't have many cast though so I haven't done any real load development with that boolit. That mold arrived "bowed" ( I can see light between the halves when held to a light), and I've tinkered on it a bit, but still no joy getting good boolits from that mold. I have a Lyman 452460 mold that I bought recently that is a joy to use so I've been shooting that boolit more. The 452460 feeds just fine in my 1911's, and also in my Blackhawks. :D
