Got to go shooting today again. Cimmeron .45 Colt "Evil Roy"
RCBS 45-270-SAA mold. Boolits weigh in at 273 gr. lubed with Lars 50/50.
8.0 grains of Universal sparked by a Rem. LPP.
sized to .454 through a Lyman 450 lubesizer.
WW brass. Sitting in a chair, resting off my knees at 22 yards.
5 rounds into .950" This may be my go to load. Still need to run it over the Chrony.
Hoping its around 850-900.

waco:
That is outstanding. Looks like that ER is all you were hoping it would be.

i was very happy with how it shoot.
i didnt know if that 270 gr slug would shoot to poa, or be way off.
i am very pleased so far with the gun all around.
we need to hook up soon and do some shooting.
we barely made it out of the woods today, shooting up shotgun creek, with all the wind and rain.
saw several tree fall down, almost in the road.
had to cut the shooting short.
still had fun though.
my wife had fun shooting her .357 lady smith, and my .44mag marlin lever gun.
she did good.i still have some loads with 8.0 gr unique that i did not get to shoot, but the Universal seems to be a keeper.
clean, and no sings of leading.
was an interesting afternoon to say the least!

Very good shootin.
Good to see, you got a keeper.

The Universal is one of my favorite powders.
If I had to settle on one powder for my handguns; 38, .41, 45 acp and 45 Colt, the Universal
might just be the winner, and probably so. It burns clean, and meters well.

nice grouping--does it hit the same spot when you shoot unsupported? I find the grouping 'moves' a bit from supported to unsupported
