FYI,
I noticed that there is no load listed for the 452374 cast bullet under the .45 Colt section of the recent Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook.
I had used the 452374 and 8.0 grains Unique in my .45 Colt handguns for years.
Emailed Lyman to ask if they could offer a recommendation for the 452374 in .45 Colt.
They emailed back within 24 hours:
"We did not use this bullet in the 45 Colt due to a lack of a crimp groove, although it could be crimped onto the nose. We used a load of 8.6 to 9.6 grains of Unique with a 230 grain flat nose bullet. This data should also be safe with the 225 grain #452374."
Question answered and good customer service support from Lyman.
