Been reading Cast Boolits on how to do this. Purchased a Mihec brass mold on a group buy and gave it a shot today. Smelted down wheel weights and pure lead last month and had my ingots onhand. Used a 50/50 mix of WW/pure lead and a little tin. After 5-6 throws the boolits started to look right. Did I say to get the mold hot? I thought I did, but not hot enough. Once it was at the right temp, things were dropping like the were suppose to. Out of the mold the boolits were .454 with the Star bringing them down to .452 and pushing a little Carnauba Red in the groove. I think I'm ready to go now.
