View Full Version : Anyone have a pic of 358429 boolit?

I cast a bunch of these for the first time today. Didn't turn out too bad I think. Yet the lube groove seems shallow. I want to compare mine to some good ones if anyone has a picture. I know the group buy mold for this one has a deeper groove for lube so you can't compare the two boolits. The drawing in Castpics shows this shallow groove too.

thanks that was a big help. Mine look very much like those pictured with the shallow type lube groove.

That is the version that Lyman switched to some years after the original. Elmer was pretty
cranky about it, too. They replaced the flat bottomed lube groove with a rounded bottomed
one. Yours looks like it even has a narrower lube groove than normal, making the two
rear driving bands a bit wider than normal. Very recent 358429s look much more like Elmer's
original design.
