I have a Lyman 450 that I got with all parts except dies top punches and combo wrench at a gunshow for $35.00. I am doing a Midway order for a .309 and .314 dies (and O ring seals if they have them) but need to select a top punch. What would be the best punches to order for use with bullets cast from Lee mold c324-175-1R (.324 175gr) and C312-155-2R (.312 155gr)?? Since these are of similar size and look to be close in nose configuration could I use the same top punch? Is there a better place than Midway for casting stuff? I like Midway but am always open to considering any vendors with a better selection.

Castpics (link at bottom of page) has a cross reference of Lyman and RCBS top punches for many Lee moulds. Quite often, though, the match isn't exact and will distort or leave an impression on the nose. Is so, you will have to make your own by using hot melt glue or epoxy. Simlpy fill the punch with the adheseve, apply oil to the boolit's nose (release agent) and mate the two together.

I can't help with the C324-175-1R . But for the Lee C312-155 I use the Lyman TP# 413....Terry

Get a flat top punch too. It will be good for your flat point moulds. We have a chart started here somewhere on top punches for Lee moulds.

I can't find the chart on Castpics but form the looks of the pictures on the midway web site I think the TP#413 suggested in one of the replies would work for either bullet.

Anyone know where I could find the cross reference chart if it is no longer on Castpics??
