Don't this beat all... While I'm impatiently waiting for my RCBS 243-095-SP, 244 sizer, and top punch to come off back order, I was able to borrow an Ideal (not Lyman!) 245496 single cavity mould so I can cast some lead for my 6mm Remington.

Actual model stamping on mould:

245 496

085

I assume the 085 is the nominal cast weight.

The lyman is an 85 grainer, mine checked and lubed weighs 90 even on averate. It is a lovern style blt. and shoots well in my 243's.

I'll see, probably cast some up this weekend. Not sure, there are conflicting opinions if it is a GC, I don't think it matters. Looking for 1600 or so, should not really matter if it's not a GC.

ohland, good morning. My list of Lyman molds show the 245496 as a84gn gc mold. This maybe of some help to you. Have fun

The 085 may or may not refer to target wt. Ideal/Lyman changed that over the years.

I'm playing around a little with my 245 496 boolit. Mine is about 89gr finished. A friend of mine says his gun shoots them well, but since mine is a single cavity mold I dont use those boolits that much.

I really like my RCBS 95gr SP boolits tho. Every 243 we shoot them out of is VERY accurate.

I also have a Saeco 85 grainer that shoots very well. However, it shoots about
2" different group wise than the Lyman, but both shoot about the same size groups with the same pdr. charge.
