I need a medium to medim "hot" load to use in 10" TC and/or BH with 158, 173, and 180 grain boolits!

Primarily for TC, but may just see what I can get out the OM 6.5" Blackhawk.

This not really HS-7, but is the Fast lot of WC-820 that Jeff Bartlett sold that he stated should beloaded with HS-7 loading data.

Lee #2 shows a max charge of 8.5 grains of HS-7 under a 200 grain cast bullet in .357 Mag. That ought to be a safe enough enough starting load with a 180 grain bullet.

A little off topic but I heard that Hodgdon was discontinuing HS-7.

TCL; I haven't used it on boolits that heavy, no mold in that weight, but here is what I have

357 4 inch bbl
Lee C358/158/swc -168 grs lubed and checked, .3595"
WSPM primer
HS-7 9.5 grs=1014 fps
9.6 grs= 1094 fps(1131 fps from 4 5/8 RBH)

Lee TL124 RN, 9mm boolit sized .3599 LLA
12.0 grs=1308 fps

BombLong; maybe they are following Winchesters suite, discontinued 571WW was same powder.

Will gladly accept more loading info, but this gives me some starting points.

Deer season til Mid January so may not be a bunch of shooting going on.

I had to meet someone to trade out some Garand parts so I did some testing today rather than deer hunt. 70 degrees ain't deer huntin weather anyway.
