I recently purchased a Lone Wolf barrel for my G21 to use for cast boolits. However, I am having issues with them failing to chamber correctly. Jbullets loads fall into the chamber fine.

I am using Lee 452-228-1r with WW. RCBS dies. I tried belling the case mouth more and seating/crimping in seperate steps. The only way to get them to chamber is to really crimp them hard, but this is swaging the boolits in the case several thsnds.

On most of the ones that fail to chamber, I can thumb the slide forward to close it.

Any suggestions???? These boolits shoot okay out of the Glock barrel without leading, but wanted to try to improve accuracy a bit.

I suspect you have too much bullet outside the case. This bullet has a nonstandard ogive.

What is your OAL?

You should be around 1.220" or thereabouts. And that's for a gun that has a bit of a throat.

I agree with 35remington. I have the same pistol, mold, and dies, and use 1.205 inch OAL.

I shoot a glock 23 and the brass that has been fired in the lone wolf barrel feed just fine but the brass fired in the glock barrel will not feed until fired through the lone wolf barrel and then resized. I think the glock barrel are a little looser

I just pushed a boolit thru the barrel from the muzzle then seated it until I couldn't se the land marks. Turns out y'all are right on the money. I had to seat to 1.165 to get them to chamber. Doesn't leave much room in the case.

Looks like I may need another mold to use this barrel and use these boolits in the stock barrel and the .45 colt.

Wow, that is short. You may want to take this up with Lone Wolf, as you may have trouble with other boolits as well.

I've heard some of those after market barrels don't have enough lead, do be careful as seating too deeply can run you into pressure problems.

KKMs are sweet. I'm a big KKM fan.

I have better luck with the lee 2r mold. I never liked how the 1r chambered in my 1911. I too had to seat it short to get it to chamber

Lyman #452374 is your friend.

H&G68 will also be your friend. I despise Lone Wolf barrels. They are normally very rough and extremely tight. Tight to the point of pretty much being unoperational and definitely not dependable (this is in MY experience). I have sworn off of them after trying 2 different barrels from them and having had to return both of them for extra "work" to be done on them. Now I use Storm Lake or KKMs if I need an aftermarket.

Thanks for everyone's input. Think I will try a longer ogive or truncated nose before giving up on the barrel.
